The answer?  It's really not!

I've had lots of people ask me how I did it.

I didn't take pills, drink liquid, go on a 'd.i.e.t.', engage in any deprivation, or do anything magic to lose that 50. I also don't sell supplements, recommend some particular program, push gyms or trainers, or endorse things like hypnosis or acupuncture.

Instead, I figured ME out, and learned how to work with that. I put a few things in place based on who I am, I made some basic habit changes in a slow, manageable way, and now I'm 6 sizes smaller than I was just 2 years ago.

Sarah Beckman from the Stateman wrote an article about some of the things I did, and I've also written well over 300 blog posts about my journey the past few years on SparkPeople.com. http://budurl.com/spcjromb

Since it started being visible on me, I think I've been asked how I did this at least three to five times a week.  My business responsibilities don't give me the time for sharing one-on-one.  Instead, I've been writing about it, as I mentioned above.

Then, a little over a year ago, in the interest of efficiently and personally telling my story, I put together what turned out to be a well-attended lunch seminar.  At that point, I'd lost about 30.

You should also know this: I'm not a nutritionist, I'm not a fitness trainer.  I'm not trying to start a weight-loss consulting business, I can't do any individual coaching.  There's not a second seminar you can pay to attend if you want more, either.

I did go through formal life coach certification training years ago, and I do have a passionate interest in motivation, behavior, communication, and community.  I feel like I've got some very basic, important things figured out, and I am passionate about sharing what I know with others.  Because this is so interesting to me, and because I've been asked so many times, I'm doing the seminar again.

I'll share a combination of high level philosophy and mind-set changes I think were necessary for me to do this, along with practical day-to-day actions I took.  These may or may not fit exactly for you, but if I share how I think and what I did, you'll be able to use my example as a framework for figuring out what's right for you.

I'll also share things I noticed along the journey, choices I made and realizations I had, that I believe were pivotal.  I'll be open about challenges I went through along the way, too.

And I'll tell you why I know the weight I was carrying around is now gone for good.

Against the strong advice of several people, I've decided not to charge for this one-time 2-hour seminar.  If I hold it again, I probably will charge like I did last time.  I do want something from you, though, if you attend. I'd like to request feedback immediately after the seminar, and again about 2 weeks after the seminar.  I'd also like the attendees to be willing to interact, open up, and discuss challenges so this is a conversation, not just me talking.

It's big fun for me when my story, my advice, and my insights make a difference.  It's been one of the most rewarding things about losing this weight.  I want to make sure me sharing it is as good as it can be, so your participation and honest feedback will support that.

I also realize that sometimes free events create more no-shows than normal.  Please do me a favor if you sign up.  Show up; it's the first step in a commitment to your health, and it's not a hard step to take.

If you DO sign up and find you can't make it? Please let us know in time for us to give the seat to someone else.  There's a limited number of seats available, and if the last seminar (which I charged for) is any indication, they'll be gone fast.

One last thing.  You've got two options for lunch.  First, bring your own.  OR, second, email support@wildwoodinteractive.com at least a day in advance with your order for Jason's.  We'll call it in and pick it up for you.  Then, you can pay us (in cash) when you get here.

I'll supply the drinks.

Here's my motto: Health #1, EVERYTHING ELSE, #2.  If you're interested in knowing how my life changed once I figured out how to make Health #1, come have lunch with me on April 23rd.
